AWARDS & RECOGNITION
Buzz Skinner
Dylan Price
Each year, Reelin’ for Research celebrates the anglers, teams, and supporters who cast their lines for a cause, embodying the heart of our mission and the spirit of friendly competition on and off the water.
The Skinner Award
The Skinner Award is presented annually to the team that raises the most money, 100% of which goes to support childhood cancer research. Named in memory of Buzz Skinner, who lost his battle with cancer in 2010, this award honors his legacy of generosity and determination to make a difference.
The Dylan Cup
Each year, the first-place Offshore Team is awarded The Dylan Cup, named in memory of our dear friend Dylan Price, who passed away in 2013 at the age of 16. Inscribed on the side of the cup is the motto Dylan lived by and lyrics from a Jimmy Buffett song: “Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On.” With those words in mind, and with Dylan’s spirit in our hearts, we continue to do just that. We breathe in, we breathe out, and we move on toward finding a cure for this awful disease.
Other tournament awards include largest fish — individual and team — (inshore and offshore), individual and team points leaders (billfish), top lady and top junior angler (all divisions).
Room blocks are available for all Reelin’ For Researchers! Refer to the Group Code to receive the discounted rates.
If you are interested in renting a house for the weekend in Morehead City or Atlantic Beach, we suggest VRBO or you can refer to Crystal Coast NC.
