The Buzz Skinner Award will go to the Team of Anglers who raises the most money toward their entry fee. There is a $1,000 entry fee to compete in the tournament and each team/boat must raise at least this amount by May 4th, 2012. The money raised by the anglers goes directly to the Tony Montana Fellowship Fund at NC Children’s Hospital.

Over the years boats started to compete to see who could raise the most money and in 2011 we decided to create the Buzz Skinner Award to reward the team who raises the most money. Buzz Skinner lost his battle to cancer in 2010. Buzz was the life of the party and a friend to all! He loved his family more than anything but fishing probably came in a close second! His competitive nature is one of the reasons this award is named after him. He did not like to lose!

Last year we had a huge competition between Teams Buzz’s Beauties and Sensation. Team Sensation won bragging rights for the second year in a row but both teams were winners! Together they brought in just shy of $24,000.

In memory of Buzz and for the children across the world battling cancer, let’s go out and raise as much money as possible so we can put a stop to childhood cancer! We know bragging rights are the best part of winning but you will also receive a Offshore Fishing trip for 6 people in Morehead City, NC on the boat Sensation with Captain Dale Britt (www.sensationsportfishing.com) and a weekend condo rental.
